Claims about freelancers and offshore providers are written as "usually" and "varies by provider" on purpose. No provider is named, because every category covers a wide range.
Each of these is the right answer for someone. Here is who, and what changes when you pick it.
Freelancers can be excellent, and some founders work with one for years. The difference shows when something changes. Illness, holidays or a resignation land back on you, and there is no one else accountable for the work. With DonnaPro, vetting, training and handover are our job, and your processes are documented so they do not leave with one person.
Read the full comparisonOffshore providers usually cost less per hour, and for clearly defined tasks that can be the right trade. For an assistant who runs your inbox, calendar and investor communication, language, working culture and judgement matter more than the hourly rate. Our assistants are based in the European Union, work full time for DonnaPro and are trained on our frameworks before they start.
Read the full comparisonAn in-house assistant is a good choice when you need someone on site and have the time to recruit, onboard and manage them. With DonnaPro you skip the recruitment, the employer costs and the notice periods, and start with an assistant who is already trained.
See what an executive assistant costsAI is very good at first drafts: email replies, meeting notes, scheduling suggestions. It does not own the outcome, chase people or decide what matters most. Our assistants use AI tools every day and are trained on them before they start, so you get the speed of the tools with a person accountable for the result.

Each number is the reason for the one after it. The selection and the training are where the last two come from.
It depends on what you need. A freelancer can work well for a defined set of tasks. An agency adds vetting, training, account and quality management, and a handover if your assistant changes, so continuity does not depend on one person.
Usually, per hour. Whether it is cheaper overall depends on how much of your work needs judgement, discretion and clear communication in your language and working culture. For executive-level support, those count for more than the rate.
AI can take over many tasks, such as drafting emails, summarising meetings and suggesting meeting slots. It cannot take responsibility for the result, build relationships or decide what matters most. The strongest setup is an assistant who uses AI well.
